Timber!

Today we took down a tree at the church. An aging basswood, it had succumbed to years of abuse by a local woodpecker and bugs, and had become a danger to those around it. It was about 60 feet tall and started taking off the heavy limbs and cutting them down to smaller pieces, followed by a bit of excitement as we cut the tree and it came crashing to the ground. The scouts did a great job of cleaning up the limbs and debris and stacking the wood for future fires at our firepit.
