Rum River Hike

We kicked off spring this year with a campout at the Rum River Scout Camp. We had not camped here previously so it was nice to be able to checkout a new campground and we loved it. While the camp is not that large, the campsites are huge and private. There are many trails and you even have access to the river.
We focused on a few things this trip which included working on First and Second class requirements for our newer Scouts as well as the Cooking Merit Badge for our older scouts. The Scouts used our cardboard oven to bake cinnamon rolls and took command of the dutch oven in the evening to make a cherry cobbler.
Additionally, we worked on the Nature Merit Badge during our hike with plenty of plants and wildlife to identify.
It was a great weekend for camping!
